Function: - role in transcriptional regulation - transcriptional activity differs among the various isoforms - all isoforms except isoform 3 seem to suppresst transcriptional activities of AP-1 & p53 Structure: contains 12 C2H2-type zinc fingers Compartment: - nucleus, cytoplasm - isoforms 1, 2, 4 & 5 show both nuclear & cytoplasmic localization - isoform 3 localizes only to nucleus Alternative splicing: named isoforms=5 Expression: - expressed in all tissues examined - isoforms are differentially expressed - isoform 3 & 5 > isoform 4 > isoform 2 >isoform 1
