WAF1 gene, PIC1, CIP1, SDI1

p53-inducible gene. The rate of WAF1 gene mutations is very low; WAF1 inactivation in tumors may occur largely via aberrations in transcriptional regulation by p53 [4]. However, a point mutation in WAF1 from a bladder carcinoma that produces a stop codon is described [4].
