vectored immunoprophylaxis (vectored immunization)
Procedure:
- genes for broadly neutralizing antibodies may be inserted into an adenovirus vector
- the vector can infect both dividing & nondividing cells & imparts little pathogenicity
- once injected intramuscularly, the vector produces antibodies continuously without involvement of the host's immune system
