Function: - delivery for trophic & nutrient factors, as well as regulatory signals [1] Structure: - small arteries supplying the outer & middle layers of larger blood vessels - mainly arise mainly arise from the adventitia & traverse the intimomedial layer of large arteries & veins [2] Pathology: - proliferation in atherosclerotic & hypertrophic intimomedia - plaque hemorrhage & dissection via rupture [2] Radiology: - optical coherence tomography
