An abnormal hemoglobin that denatures under normal conditions.
Laboratory:
1) hemoglobin electrophoresis is often normal
2) hemoglobin instability on exposure to heat or isopropanol
- thermolabile hemoglobin in erythrocytes
3) unstable hemoglobin in erythrocytes (Loinc)
