T-lymphoma invasion & metastasis-inducing protein 1; TIAM-1 (TIAM1)

Function: - modulates the activity of RHO-like proteins & connects extracellular signals to cytoskeletal activities - acts as a GDP-dissociation stimulator protein a) stimulates the GDP-GTP exchange activity of RHO-like GTPases & activates them b) activates RAC1, CDC42, & to a lesser extent, RHOA - interacts with BAIAP2 Structure: - belongs to the TIAM family - contains 1 DH (DBL-homology) domain - contains 1 PDZ domain (DHR domain) - contains 2 PH domains - contains 1 RBD (Ras-binding) domain Expression: - found in virtually all analyzed tumor cell lines including B-cell lymphomas & T-cells lymphomas, neuroblastomas, melanomas & carcinomas
