transducin-like enhancer protein 4 (TLE4, KIAA1261)

Function: - transcriptional corepressor that binds to a number of transcription factors - inhibits transcriptional activation mediated by PAX5, CTNNB1 & TCF family members in Wnt signaling - effects of full-length TLE family members may be modulated by association with dominant-negative AES - homooligomer & heterooligomer with other family members - binds PAX5, LEF1, TCF7, TCF7L1 & TCF7L2 Structure: - belongs to the WD repeat groucho/TLE family - contains 7 WD repeats Compartment: nucleus Alternative splicing: named isoforms=3 Expression: - expressed in all tissues examined, including brain & skeletal muscle
