thrombin/thromboplastin (Thrombinar)

Tradenames: Thrombinar. Indications: - hemostasis whenever minor bleeding from capillaries & small venules is accessible Dosage: 1) use 1000-2000 units/mL where bleeding is perfuse 2) apply powder directly to site of bleeding or oozing surfaces 3) use 100 units/mL for bleeding from skin or mucosal surfaces Powder: (topical) 1000, 5000, 10,000, 20,000 units. Adverse effects: - not common (1-10%) - allergic reactions, fever
