telangiectasia macularis eruptiva perstans (TMEP)

A generalized cutaneous mastocytosis. Clinical manifestations: 1) freckle-like macules with fine telangiectasia in a chronic lesion 2) positive Darier's sign 3) dermatographism 4) hundreds of lesions 5) centripedal distribution, trunk > extremities 6) lesions may be confluent Differential diagnosis: 1) Histiocytosis 2) secondary syphilis 3) sarcoid 4) histiocytoma 5) non-X histiocytosis
