Classification: - partial statin intolerance is the inability to tolerate a statin dose required to achieve a therapeutic effect, but able to tolerate lower doses - complete statin intolerance is the inability to tolerate any statin dose Management: - bempedoic acid/ezetimibe may be useful in statin intolerant patients - treatment with bempedoic acid reduces risk of major cardiovascular events [3] - PCSK9 inhibitor may be useful in statin intolerant patients
