Function: - tyrosine kinase - activated by integrin-beta 1 & integrin-beta 3 cross-linking [1] - apparently associates with surface immunoglobulin (sIg) B-cell antigen receptor & with high affinity IgE receptor in mast cells & is activated by ligand binding to these receptors - role in proliferation, differentiation, & phagocytosis Structure: - contains 2 SH2 domains Expression: - expressed in hematopoietic cells Pharmacology: - fostamatinib is a small molecule Syk kinase inhibitor with potential anti-inflammatory & immunomodulating activities
