Etiology: - spondylitis - spondylolithesis - spinal cord injury - spine deformity a) kyphosis b) scoliosis - degenerative disk disease - herniated disc - sciatica - spinal stenosis - osteoarthritis of the spine - fibromylagia - spinal neoplasm - whiplash Management: - only a small proportion of patients with back pain or sciatica perceive benefit from NSAIDs [2] - some of the perceived benefit reflects placebo effects or the tendency for these conditions to fluctuate or improve - acetaminophen is ineffective for low back pain
