Epidemiology: rare Pathology: - macular disorder - subretinal neovascularization - atrophy of the ocular tissues - macular degeneration, disciform Genetics: - autosomal dominant - associated with defects in TIMP3 Clinical manifestations: - age of onset in the fourth decade - loss of central vision - generally, macular degeneration (disciform) develops within 6 months to 6 years
