Function: - may bind androgens & other steroids - may also bind estramustine, a chemotherapeutic agent used for prostate cancer - may be under transcriptional regulation of steroid hormones Structure: - belongs to the secretoglobin family, lipophilin subfamily Compartment: secreted (putative) Expression: - highest expression in skeletal muscle - expressed in steroid responsive tissues (prostate, testis, uterus, breast & ovary) - expressed in thymus, trachea, kidney, & salivary gland
