Indications: - USPSTF recommends that clinicians screen all adults for obesity by calculating body mass index (BMI) - USPSTF recommends that clinicians screen all children & adolescents for obesity by calculating body mass index (BMI) - children are considered obese if BMI >= age- & sex-specific 95th percentile of BMI* * this would necessarily define 5% (& only 5%) of children as obese (if percentiles were up to date & accurate)
