see generalized anxiety disorder scale (GAD-2, GAD-7) Indications: - all children & adolescents age 8-18 years (USPSTF) [2] - USPSTF recommends screening for anxiety disorders in adults, including pregnant & postpartum women [3] - USPSTF concludes that current evidence is insufficient to assess the balance of benefits & harms of screening for anxiety disorders in older adults [3] - depression frequently coexists with anxiety; also screen for depression Clinical significance: - anxiety detected by screening is likely due to PTSD [3] - suicidal ideation detected in 5% of persons screened for anxiety or depression [3] * "In the past 2 weeks, how often were you not able to stop worrying or control your worrying? is the single bests screening question [1]
