Etiology: - trauma - sacroiliitis Epidemiology: - 16% to 30% of cases of chronic mechanical low back pain Clinical manifestations: - predominantly perceived in the gluteal region, - referred pain including - low back pain, groin pain, abdominal pain, leg pain Management: - physical therapy - glucocorticoid injection - cooled radiofrequency treatment of the lateral branches of S1 to S3 - radiofrequency procedures targeted at L5 dorsal ramus & lateral branches of S1 to S3 as an alternative
