RING finger protein 13; E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase RNF13 (RNF13 RZF)

Function: - E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase - may play a role in controlling cell proliferation - protein modification; protein ubiquitination - auto-ubiquitinated Structure: - the RING-type Zn+2 finger domain is required for E3 ligase activity - contains 1 PA (protease associated) domain - contains 1 RING-type Zn+2 finger Compartment: - endoplasmic reticulum membrane - Golgi membrane - late endosome membrane - lysosome membrane - nuclear inner membrane (putative) - under certain conditions, relocalizes to recycling endosomes & to the inner nuclear membrane - single-pass membrane protein (putative) Expression: - widely expressed (at protein level) - in normal pancreas - expressed in islets of Langerhans - not expressed in pancreatic ducts - not expressed in pancreatic acini
