right main bronchus

Arises at the bifurcation of the trachea & enters the hilum of the right lung. -> gives off superior lobe bronchus, continue downward to give off the middle & inferior lobe bronchi. The bronchus is shorter, of great caliber & more nearly vertical than the left main bronchus, thus aspirated objects more frequently lodge on the right side.
