D(d) antigen of Rhesus blood group. * A+ indidates Rh(D), A- Rh(d) Indications: - blood transfusion - blood donation - organ donation - surgery - pregnancy - identificaton - blood relatives - forensic Clinical significance: - 2nd most important antigen in transfusion reactions (after ABO type) - determines susceptbility to hemolytic disease of the newborn & erythroblastosis fetalis
