- degenerative or senile retinoschisis
- hereditary retinoschisis
- tractional retinoschisis
- exudative retinoschisis
Etiology:
- degenerative: idiopathic
Epidemiology:
- up to 7% in some populations
Pathology:
- abnormal splitting of the retina's neurosensory layers, usually in the outer plexiform layer
Clinical manifestations:
- usually asymptomatic
- rarely, loss of vision in the corresponding visual field
Special laboratory:
- ophthalmoscopy
