Etiology:
- vesicoureteral reflux
Pathology:
1) chronic tubulointerstitial damage
2) pyelonephritis associated with reflux nephropathy may lead to chronic pyelonephritis
Management:
- surgical intervention generally does NOT prevent progressive renal insufficiency in adults
