1) Wolf Eisner's term for antibody. 2) Old term for the Wassermann antibody which is evoked during syphilitic infections & combines with cardiolipin in the presence of lecithin & cholesterol (IgM). It is distinct from the treponema-immobilizing antibody. 3) Antibodies that mediate immune hypersensitivity reactions (IgE in humans).
