rapid alternating movements test

Procedure: 1) speech rapid alternating movements - having the patient say 'lah-pah-kah' can test rapid alternating movements of the tongue, lips, & palate 2) hand rapid alternating movements a) finger tapping, wrist rotation & front-to-back hand patting b) observe for rapidity & rhythm of movements c) note any right-left disparity 3) foot rapid alternating movements - patient taps his/her foot on the floor
