quadrangular (superior/inferior) membrane; Tourtual membrane

A thin submucosal sheet of connective tissue that connects the border of the epiglottic cartilage to the arytenoid & corniculate cartilages. Superior part: - thickened inferiorly to form the vestibular ligament, which is covered loosely by the vestibular fold Inferior part: - the cricothyroid ligament (conus elasticus) begins inferiorly as the median cricothyroid ligament & ends as the vocal ligament Between the vocal & vestibular ligaments the membrane lined with mucous membrane is evaginated to form the wall of the ventricle.
