protein RMI1 homolog (75 kD BLM-associated protein, BLAP75, FAAP75, RMI1, C9orf76)

Function: - role in the processing of homologous recombination intermediates to limit DNA crossover formation in cells - promotes TOP3A binding to double Holliday junctions (DHJ) & hence stimulates TOP3A-mediated dissolution - required for BLM phosphorylation during mitosis - within the BLM complex, required for BLM & TOP3A stability - directly interacts with BLM & TOP3A - may bind DHJ Compartment: - nucleus - forms nuclear foci in response to DNA damage
