protein MCM10 homolog (HsMCM10, MCM10)

Function: - role in DNA replication (putative) - role in activation of the pre-replication complex (putative) - recruited to the replication sites before they replicate & dissociates from chromatin after the activation of the pre-replication complex - self-associates (putative) - interacts with ORC2 - may interact with MCM2 & MCM6 - phosphorylated upon DNA damage, probably by ATM or ATR Structure: - zinc finger-like domain binds Zn+2, involved in self-association (putative) - belongs to the MCM10 family Compartment: - nucleus - colocalizes with ORC2 in nuclei foci - associated with chromatin in S phase - fom early to mid-S phase located in discrete nuclear foci - in early S phase, several hundred foci appeared throughout the nucleus - in mid-S phase, foci appear at the nuclear periphery & nucleolar regions - in the late S & G phases, localized to nucleoli Expression: - cell cycle regulated - expression increases at the G1/S-boundary - expression decreases in late M phase, remains low during G1 phase, & starts to accumulate at the onset of S phase
