Function: - Ca+2-binding protein required for T-cell receptor-, Fas-, & glucocorticoid-induced cell death - may mediate Ca+2-regulated signals along the death pathway (putative) - Ca+2-dependent adapter necessary for the association between PDCD6IP & TSG101 - self-associates (putative), homodimer - interacts with PEF1 - interacts with RBM22 - interacts with PLSCR4, ANXA7 & TSG101 - interacts with SEC31A, PDCD6IP, & the N-termini of ANXA11 & PLSCR3 (Ca+2-dependent) Structure: contains 5 EF-hand domains Compartment: - nuclear membrane; peripheral membrane - endoplasmic reticulum membrane - interaction with RBM22 induces relocalization from the cytoplasm to the nucleus
