Function: - methylates Lys-27 of histone H3, leading to transcriptional repression of the affected target genes - able to mono-, di- & trimethylate Lys-27 of histone H3 - required for embryonic stem cell derivation & self-renewal Structure: - subunits include EED, EZH1, SUZ12, RBBP4 & AEBP2 - EZH1 is catalytic subunit Expression: - less abundant than the PRC2/EED-EZH2 complex
