positive predictive value (PPV)
Predictive value of a positive test (PVP)
true positives / (true positives + false positives)
The proportion of persons with a positive test who have the condition or disease.
(p x s) / ((p x s) + ((1 - p) x (1 - s)))
where p = prevalence & s = sensitivity
As the prevalence of a disease increases, so does the positive predictive value. [2]
