Predictive value of a positive test (PVP) true positives / (true positives + false positives) The proportion of persons with a positive test who have the condition or disease. (p x s) / ((p x s) + ((1 - p) x (1 - s))) where p = prevalence & s = sensitivity As the prevalence of a disease increases, so does the positive predictive value. [2]
