capillary p-tau217 from dried blood spot Indications: - screening for Alzheimer's disease Procedure: - single finger prick - single blood drops were applied to a dried plasma spot (DPS) card shipped to a lab (without temperature control or cooling) - dried plasma spot (DPS) card may be obtained without supervision - particularly useful in remote & rural settings Interpretation: - capillary p-tau217 DPS correlates with plasma ptau-217 - able to discriminate beta-amyloid positive from beta-amyloid negative individuals - levels provide estimate of cognitive function Notes: - additional validation in progress
