Function: - acts as a transcritpional repressor - isoform 1 & isoform 2 inhibit transcription from an HSV-tk promoter Structure: contains 2 PHD-type Zn+2 fingers Compartment: nucleus Alternative splicing: named isoforms=3 Expression: - isoform 1 is expressed in thymus, heart, lung & kidney - isoform 2 is predominantly expressed in placenta, skeletal muscle & kidney Pathology: - overexpressed in many types of cancers, including colon, skin, lung, rectal, cervical, uterus, liver cancers, in cell lines derived from different stages of melanoma & in glioma cell lines
