pes anserine pain syndrome
Etiology:
- overuse syndrome of the knee
Pathology:
- often exacerbated by flat feet
Clinical manifestations:
- pain localizes over the pes anserine bursa
- pain is elicited with flexion of the knee*
* attachment of hamstrings to medial tuberosity of tibia via the pes anserine tendon
Management:
- rest, NSAIDs, physical therapy
