Etiology:
1) mediator: anti-CAR (recoverin)
2) associated neoplasms:
a) small cell lung cancer
b) cervical cancer (rare)
Pathology:
1) loss of rods & cones
2) infiltration of retina with mononuclear cells
Clinical manifestations:
1) evolution over weeks to months
2) painless visual loss
3) progression to blindness
