Etiology:
- probably the result of repetitive mechanical stimulation
Epidemiology:
- usually occurs in young males
- 121 cases reported in literature
Clinical manifestations:
- progressive swelling of proximal interphalangeal joints
- absence of pain, tenderness, & limitation of function
