Pathology:
- fungus not invasive
Clinical manifestations:
1) generally unilateral
2) scaling
3) itching
4) pain
5) otoscopy:
- whitish debris in the external auditory canal
- inflammation of the external auditory canal
- tympanic membrane not retracted [1]
Laboratory:
- fungal mycelia seen in cerumen & desquamated cells of the external auditory canal
Management:
1) hygiene:
a) ear irrigation
b) ear wax removal
2) Swim Ear or AuroDri to keep ear clean, dry
