omental appendix (fatty appendices of colon, epiploic appendage or tags)

One of a number of little processes or sacs of peritoneum filled with adipose tissue. These project from the serous coat of the large intestine, except the rectum. -> most evident on the transverse & sigmoid colon -> numerous along the tenia coli(free tenia)
