ocular hemorrhage (hemophthalmos)

Etiology: - risk of anticoagulants is low (~ 14 per 10,000 patients) [1] - risk may be slightly lower with the direct anticoagulants than with warfarin (RR=0.75) - clopidogrel & prasugrel seem not to increase risk [1] Laboratory: 1) complete blood count (CBC), rule out thrombocytopenia 2) prothrombin time (PT) & INR 3) aPTT Management: Maxitrol
