ocular bobbing

Etiology: - thiamine deficiency, Wernicke encephalopathy* [3] * ocular bobbing on primary gaze, but not horizontal gaze [3] Pathology: - not necessarily associated with pontine pathology Clinical manifestations: - abrupt, spontaneous downward jerks of the eyes with slow return to midposition - occurs in association with paralysis of spontaneous & reflex horizontal eye movements
