nucleoporin NUP85 (nuclear pore complex protein Nup85, 85kDa nucleoporin, nucleoporin Nup75, pericentrin-1, FROUNT, NUP85, NUP75, PCNT1)

Function: e - essential component of the nuclear pore complex, Nup107-160 subcomplex - seems to be required for nuclear pore complex assembly & maintenance - NUP85 is required for membrane clustering of CCL2- activated CCR2 - seems to be involved in CCR2-mediated chemotaxis of monocytes & may link activated CCR2 to the PI-3-kinase - Rac-lammellipodium protrusion cascade - interacts with NUP160, NUP133 & SEC13 - interacts with NUP37, NUP107 & NUP43 - interacts with CCR2 Structure: belongs to the nucleoporin Nup85 family Compartment: - nucleus, nuclear pore complex - kinetochore spindle - cytoplasm - during mitosis, localizes to the kinetochores & spindle poles - upon CCl2 stimulation, translocates from the cytoplasm to the membrane & colocalizes with CCR2 at the front of migrating cells
