non-pitting edema

Edema or swelling of subcutaneous tissue that cannot be easily indented by pressure & that indentation produced does not persist. It generally occurs as a result of increased amounts of interstitial tissue. Etiology: 1) Graves disease (pretibial myxedema) 2) early phase of scleroderma 3) lipedema (women) Also see edema
