Function: - role in regulating cell migration through association with the actin cytoskeleton - interacts with F-actin Structure: contains 1 Ig-like (immunoglobulin-like) domain Compartment: - cytoplasm, cytoskeleton, cell junction, adherens junction (putative) - localizes to the cell-matrix AJ - not found at the cell-cell AJ (putative) Alternative splicing: named isoforms=3 Expression: - abundantly expressed in heart & skeletal muscle, & at lower levels in placenta, lung, liver & pancreas - also expressed in HeLa S3 & Molt-4 cells
