Increases:
1) see neutrophilia
2) glucocorticoids increase absolute neutrophil count
a) cause release of neutrophils from the bone marrow
b) prevent egress of neutrophils from the intravascular space
Decreases:
- see neutropenia
Specimen:
- Whole blood (EDTA)
- Stable for 24 h at 4 C
