Epidemiology: - primarily affects young women Pathology: - norepinephrine abnormality consistent with partial sympathetic denervation in the legs (low neuronal stores & impaired release) Clinical manifestations: 1) orthostatic symptoms that occur upon standing a) lightheadedness b) dimming of vision c) anxiety 2) tachycardia 3) NO decrease in blood pressure
