Indications: - see exercise tolerance testing - submaximal stress test used to detect myocardial ischemia after myocardial infarction - good choice for elderly, less physically fit patients Procedure: - submaximal exercise tolerance testing (ETT) using treadmill - 1 MET intensity increments Stages stage speed grade time Mets 0 1.0 mph 0% grade 2 min 1.6 Mets I 2.0 mph 0% grade 2 min 2 Mets II 2.0 mph 3.5% grade 2 min 3 Mets III 2.0 mph 7% grade 2 min 4 Mets IV 2.0 mph 10.5% grade 2 min 5 Mets V 2.0 mph 14% grade 2 min 6 Mets VI 2.0 mph 17.5% grade 2 min 7 Mets
