Function: 1) NADPH oxidase which constitutively produces superoxide upon formation of a complex with CYBA/p22phox 2) biogenesis of otoconia 3) activated by the ototoxic drug cisplatin 4) activated by NOXO1 5) cooperatively activated by NCF1 & NCF2 or NOXA1 phorbol ester dependent 6) contains 1 ferric oxidoreductase domain, residues 55-549 Inhibition: - inhibited by diphenyleneiodonium chloride Structure: - contains 1 FAD-binding FR-type domain - contains 1 ferric oxidoreductase domain Compartment: membrane (putative) Expression: - expressed in fetal kidney > liver, lung & spleen
