NADPH (reduced nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate)

Function: - reduced form of NADP - provides reducing equivalents, 2 electrons & 1 proton for oxidation reduction reactions, involved in: a) regeneration of reduced glutathione b) cholesterol synthesis c) fatty acid chain elongation d) cytochrome P450 hydroxylations - ~60% of NADPH is produced by the pentose phosphate pathway
