Etiology:
- fertility treatments account for 77% of triplet & higher- order births
- most are the result of medically assisted conception
Management:
- outcomes for vaginal delivery similiar to cesarean section for twins [2]
- consider delivery of dichorionic twins at 37 weeks gestation [3]
- risk for stillbirth surpasses risk for neonatal death from delivery
- consider delivery of monochorionic twins at 36 weeks gestation
- risk for stillbirth surpasses risk for neonatal death from delivery, but difference not statistically significant [3]
