mastocytoma

Epidemiology: - onset between birth & 2 years of age Pathology: - tumor of mast cells - often a solitary lesion Clinical manifestations: 1) macular, papular or nodular lesions 2) color: yellow, tan, pink 3) lesions may become raised & erythematous (i.e. urticate) when gently stroked (Darier's sign) Differential diagnosis: 1) xanthogranuloma 2) Spitz nevus
