Epidemiology: 2 cases reported in USA (Virginia) in 2002 a) traveler with Malaria from endemic area flew into Dulles airport b) traveler bitten local Anopheles mosquitoes c) mosquitoes bite & transmit Plasmodium Vivax to teenagers who had never left country d) cases treated successfully with primaquine & chloroquine
